At least 4,000 members of APGA in Anambra State have dumped the party for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the November 18 governorship poll.

The decampees include 1,775 members in Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area and another 2,000 in Ebenebe, Awka-South Local Government Area.

Former chairman of the party in Anaocha council, Ifeanyi Orji, led the decampees durimg a rally by the PDP governorship candidate, Oseloka Obaze and his running-mate, Chidi Onyemelukwe at St. Peters Anglican Church playground.

A former leader of Awka-North local government legislative çouncil, Sam Obi led the APGA members to join the PDP.

Addressing supporters at Agulu, Obaze said that he joined the governorship race to save the state from the clutches of bad governance.

He said: “I was the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) under the present administration, but I had to quit when I noticed that the administration had deviated from the development initiatives of the immediate past administration of Mr. Peter Obi, which was the continuity we preached during his campaign.”

At the rally in Ebenebe, Obaze challenged the people to show how the incumbent government had affected their lives and the projects done in their community.
