While Ogun State groans under severe financial hardship, the state Governor, Ibikunle Amosun has shelled out N475 million for luxury vehicles for his commissioners.
Amosun has bought brand new Toyota Fortuner SUVs for each of his commissioners.
Checks by Bounce News shows the market value for each vehicle is N25million.
There are 19 commissioners in the state.
Impeccable sources told our correspondent that the jeeps are now packed at the Government House awaiting formal handover to the commissioners.
Although, Amosun is not owning salaries, he is howver, owning workers over N30bn in salary deductions for over 15 months.
The deductions are for their pension contributions.
Many road projects in the state have been abandoned or work has continued at snail speed.
The purchase of the SUVs comes ahead of Amosun's 60th birthday celebration.
Amosun will be 60 on Thursday, January 25, 2018.
Recall that the governor in June 2017, lavished over N2bn on his daughter’s superlative wedding.
