Armed robbery, kidnapping, and all the other vices that keep people on the edge could become a thing of the past soon.

This is because, Nigerian state governors and the American government have entered a pact to tackle these security challenges.

The American Ambassador to Nigeria, Stuart Synington disclosed this plan when he paid a courtesy visit on Gov. Muhammad Badaru of Jigawa in Dutse on Friday.

He said the collaboration between US and the governors will strengthen economic, political and cultural relations between both countries.

In response, Gov. Badaru commended the US Government on its development projects in Nigeria through USAID.

Badaru pointed out that the US Government has achieved a lot in the areas of health, education, agriculture, economy, information and communication through its donor agencies.

But he also appealed to the ambassador to bring more developmental projects to the state through mutually beneficial partnerships.

The governor specifically mentioned some initiatives including: girl child education, maternal and child health care; and youth empowerment.
