Amaechi Audio: Why Fayose Sees Failure And Tyranny
Reactions have continued to trail an audio said to be that of the Minister of Transportation and a former governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Amaechi, alluding to the fact that poverty had increased in Nigeria even under President Muhammadu Buhari.
Latest in the deluge of comments is one coming from the former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, a known critic of the administration of Buhari.
In a post on his Twitter, Mr Fayose said the audio was a sign that the administration which Amaechi was part of was not working.
He suggested what Nigerians should do about the comment by the Minister.
"When a marketer tells you the product he is marketing is bad and those who used it in the last three and half years are suffering the consequences, what reasonable minds do is to run away from such product.
"Amaechi, the Chief Marketer of President Buhari has said it all," Mr Fayose said.
For the former Ekiti State Governor, Nigerians are not only suffering, but are experiencing tyranny at this time.
Giving his opinion on the invasion of the office of Daily Trust by armed men from different security agencies in Nigeria, Mr Fayose insisted that the act was a form of tyranny likened to the kind he claimed was witnessed in 1984 under President Muhammadu Buhari as a military Head of State.
"Before us is a full-blown dictatorship and I warned! Now in a democracy, Army invaded @daily_trust office, took its staff away! Ain't we back to Buhari's tyranny of 1984 when under Decree 4, journalists must not report information considered embarrassing to govt?," he questioned.
This tweet came after he expressed concerns over the political situation in Ogun State, insisting that President Buhari is 'giving the hand of a daughter out in marriage to two men'.
