Aisha Buhari Allegedly Orders Arrest Of Aide Over N2.5b Fraud
Corruption appears to be fighting back seriously, finding its way into the presidency each time. Or is it that the eyes of everyone in the presidency only sees corruption?
Again, there are reports that the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha Buhari, has put forward corruption allegation that have led to the arrest of her Aide De Camp.
She accused her aide, Sani Baba-Inna, a chief superintendent of police, of receiving huge donations from politicians and business people on her behalf, but kept the cash to himself.
Premium Times reports that Mrs Buhari, after the allegation was raised requested that the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, should arrest and compel Mr Baba-Inna to refund the money, put at over 2.5 billion Naira.
Baba-Inna was arrested on Friday and has remained in detention ever since, with relatives having no access to him, it quoted family members as saying.
According to a source quoted, police have launched investigation into the matter.
“The IG said the matter must be investigated immediately and the house of the ADC was raided.
“Shockingly, investigators only found 1,200 Naira cash in the House. His bank account was also investigated and had only a balance of 30,000 Naira while the transaction records showed that most credits to the account were his salaries and allowances,” Premium Times quoted a source as saying.
The police, it was gathered, concluded that Mrs Buhari must have been wrongly informed, as there was nothing to show or prove that such huge sums of money was in the custody of Mr Baba-Inna.
There were also claims that the wife of the President was not satisfied with the outcome of the investigation, insisting that the police was protecting their colleague.
