The Nigeria U-20 Women's team stepped up their preparation for the World Cup in France with a friendly game on Thursday.

The Falconets as the team are usually referred to were ruthless; beating their opponents Saadatu Amazons 8-0.

Monday Gift led the rout; scoring a hat trick with goals in the 1st, 33rd and 50th minute, Anam Imo also banged in a hat trick; netting a penalty kick in the 15th minute before adding two more in the 27th and 47th minute respectively.

Aisahat Bello and Peace Efih added a goal each to give the Falconets the big win.

The Falconets will continue their preparations with another warm-up game against Nasarawa Amazons on Saturday.

Nigeria’s Under-20 girls, Falconets have been drawn in the same pool as perennial foes Germany, China and Haiti in Group D of the 9th FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup taking place in France between August 5th and August 24th 2018.

They will  begin their campaign with a huge test, against Germany at the Stade de Marville in Saint-Malo on Monday, 6th August.
