AGAIN?? Gov. Al-Makura’s Son Knocks Down 6 Persons In Nasarawa
Remember Khalid? He is the son of Nasarawa state governor, Tanko Al-Makurawho who was arrested after his car hit and killed a JSS 2 student of Government Secondary School, Lafia, Ovye Amos in 2017.
Well, we hear Khalid is at it again, this time, knocking down about six persons in the Mararaba Ankunza area of Lafia, the state capital.
Tribune reports that Khalid was returning from a club and was allegedly drunk when the accident occurred.
Although, no life was lost this time, the accident can be said to be more fatal as some of the victims were reportedly amputated.
The traditional chief of the area, Ibrahim Mohammed told Tribune that three persons sustained serious injuries and are receiving treatment at Chida Crescent Hospital, Abuja.
Others with minor injuries were receiving treatment at the National Hospital, Abuja.
“Some youths wanted to kill the driver, but I insisted and asked the vigilante guards to take him away, which they did before they later hand him over to the Police, while those injured were rushed to specialists Hospital. And the Governor immediately ordered that they should all be taken to Abuja,” Mohammed added.
Speaking to Tribune, the leader of the vigilante group, Isah Danladi said:
“We stood our ground to save him before we later realised that he is Governor Al-Makura’s son. In fact, if we were not there nobody knows what the youth could have done, because they were angry and ready for jungle justice as they noticed the driver was drunk.
Khalid has reportedly been involved in several hit and run accidents that has claimed four lives in the last three years and one has to wonder why he has not been brought to book.
More surprising is how he was freed and allowed to return to driving again after the 2017 incident which led to his arraignment for manslaughter.
Speaking to journalists, Nasarawa State Police Public Relation Officer, John Idrisu Kennedy, said: “I am not to comment on this”.
