Nigeria’s D’Tigress got off to a bright start at the FIBA Afrobasket Women 2017 taking place in Mali as they beat Mozambique 80-69.

D’Tigress did not hide their intention from the start of the encounter and showed dominance over Mozambique.

At the end of second quarter of the tie that was later moved to late dunk off, The West Africans were already leading with nine points (41-32) to take the game to half time.

After the short break, Nigeria continued from where they left off and cruised all the way to a massive 80-69 final scored.

Standout players in the first game include Adaora Elonu (17), Ezinne Kalu (16), Sarah Ogoke (11), Evelyn Akhator (13)

Nigeria’s next game is against DR Congo on Saturday.
