It will be a battle royale as the Nigeria men's basketball team, D'Tigers slug it out against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the quarter final stage of the ongoing 2017 Afrobasket.

Just few days back, it was the Super Eagles against the Indomitable Lions in the Russia 2018 World Cup qualifiers; now the rivalry has shifted to the basketball ball court where the two neighbouring countries will be eyeing a spot in the semi final of Africa's biggest basketball tournament.

D'Tigers, who are the defending champions, have vowed to put behind them the shock defeat suffered in the hands of Congo DR last Sunday and deliver the semi final ticket when they face Cameroon on Thursday.

“Its been difficult but we are on track. We had a tough game against Congo but we have learned a lot more and now in the quarter-final which we must win," captain Ike Diogu stated.

In the other quarter-final pairings also to be played on Thursday, Tunisia will go up against DR Congo; Senegal will take on Angola and Morocco will play Egypt.
