Nigeria Women’s basketball team, D’Tigress emerged winners in the supremacy battle between them and their Senegalese counterparts late Wednesday night at the ongoing 2017 FIBA Afrobasket tournament in Mali.

Nigeria defeated Senegal 54-58 points in the nail-biting encounter.

Going into Wednesday’s last group game, D’Tigress and the Senegalese team who are the defending champions had both recorded four straight wins respectively.

The Senegal Ladies hurled early attacks at the D’Tigress in the first quarter, but the Nigerians kept coming back and made a headway about three minutes to the end.

First quarter ended 13-14 in favour of Nigeria.

D’Tigress were not done, but set a wider margin of seven points before half time.

Senegal picked up the pace after half time, wining the last two quarters but it was quite close.

At the end, D’Tigress won the game by four points; 54-58 and would now face Cote D’Ivoire on Friday at the Quarter-final stage.
