After a week-long of screenings, talks and recognition, the 2017 edition of the Africa International Film Festival came to a roaring close on Saturday, 4th November.

As expected, the event which held at Eko Hotel was not without the usual glam and glitz as many of Nollywood's finest turned out in their Sunday bests for the 7-year old event.

The event was hosted by Nollywood actress, Kemi ‘Lala’ Akindoju, supported by a French counterpart, Serge Noukoue, convener of Nollywood  Week Paris.

Some of the big winners of the night included Best Student Short Film, The Fall (South Africa); Best Short Film, 1745 (UK); Best Documentary, We Have Never Been Kids; Audience Choice Award, Lost Café by Kenneth Gyang; Best French Language Film, Hulu (Mali).

On the home front, Hakkunde picked the Oronto Douglas Memorial Award for Best Nigerian Film while Alter Ego nabbed the special prize for outstanding film.
