Africa Volleyball: Nigeria’s Game Rescheduled Over Late Arrival
Nigeria was lucky to have their opening game rescheduled after they arrived late for the Africa Men Volleyball Nations Tournament in Cairo, Egypt.
The Nigerian team were scheduled to play Cameroon in their first game on Sunday, October 22, but the match will now hold on the 25th.
Explaining further, the president of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Musa Nimrod said it took the intervention of former boss and current member of CAVB, Habu Gumel to secure a shift in date.
"Federation informed CAVB regarding the situation of the flight schedule and Gumel intervened on our behalf and it was granted."
The National male team has since arrived Cairo ahead of its second match against Morocco on the 24th October, 2017.
"We give thanks to God for the rescheduling of the match, it will give us the opportunity to watch Cameroon and Morocco's match before we engage them and playing the North Africans first is more preferred." Coach Japhet Nuhu said.
