Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo is talking tough as Nigeria gets ready for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers fixture against Seychelles.

The Leganes defender said the team is focused on getting victory in the city of Victoria on Saturday.

He admitted that Nigeria is the favourite, but Seychelles will not be underrated.

“On paper, we are favorites but we all know there are no more minnows in African football,” Omeruo told journalists in the team’s Savoy Hotel Resort and Spa in Victoria.

“We have to focus on the game and win on Saturday to get back to the top of the table of the AFCON qualifiers, so we will approach the game with all seriousness and try to pick all maximum points.”

If he plays on Saturday, it will be Omeruo’s 41st appearance for the Super Eagles since making his debut in 2013.

Only a win is good enough for the Pirates who are seated bottom of Group E of the AFCON 2029 qualifiers after going down to a 5-1 defeat to Libya in June last year.

Nigeria also suffered defeat on day one of the qualifiers – 2-0 to South Africa.
