Nigeria’s bid to qualify for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations has been given a big boost following the barren draw recorded in the Group E clash between minnows Seychelles and South Africa in Victoria on Tuesday.

Bafana Bafana had trounced the same opposition 6-0 on at home on Saturday and while this time they were met with a very poor artificial surface, still created enough to have won the game comfortably.

With the solitary point earned, Bafana remain unbeaten in the pool with eight points from their four matches.

However, instead of moving to within a single point of qualification for Cameroon, they now face tough matches home against Nigeria and away to Libya to seal their place.

On their part, the Super Eagles can jump to the top spot in Group E if they complete a double over Libya in Sfax on Tuesday night.

The Nigeria national team are presently second on the log with six points from three games.
