9 Remanded In Prison For Stealing Track Beds In Gombe
Officers of Gombe State police command have arrested and charged nine people suspected of conniving and stealing truckload of track beds in Ashaka Gari in Funakaye local government.
Prosecutor of the case, Inspector Habibu Danjuma told the 8th magistrate court sitting in Tumfure in Akko local government that the offence is punishable in section 96 & 286 of the Penal Code.
The suspects: Godwin Odoma, Shapi’u Rabi’u, Sani Adamu, Bala Usaman, Abdullahi Musa, Chrisila Rabi’u, Adamu Muhammed, Abubakar Muhammed and Ali Suleman pleaded guilty of the offence.
The Magistrate Japet Maida remanded the suspects in prison awaiting more evidence by police on 3rd May 2018.
Meanwhile, the police in Gombe state has arrested two people for criminal bridge of trust in Gombe.
The suspects Abubakar Abdullahi and Emmanuel Erebe connived and claimed to be officers of Gombe state social welfare to collect 670,000 from Chukuwu Ijeoma.
The money was collected after promising her that they will be adopting and bringing to her unwanted children or orphans who she will be taking to her home state- Enugu.
Ijeoma said she never saw them again after giving them the money.
The Prosecutor of the case Inspector Bako Shekare told the 5th magistrate court sitting in Gombe metropolis that it is an offence punishable under section 96, 279 and 320 in the Penal Code
The suspects Emanuel Erebe pleaded guilty while Abubakar Abdullahi pleaded not guilty after which Justice Daurabo Suleman remanded them both in prison till 16th May 2018.
