The 2018 AMVCAs have come and gone and as one can expect from, arguably, the biggest award show in Africa, there was glitz, glam and most importantly, moments that will remain with us for a very long time.

IK Osakioduwa was the host of the evening for the 6th year running, and as usual, he gave a good account of himself alongside co-host, Minnie Dlamini-Jones.

The women certainly called the shots this year as they nabbed some of the biggest awards of the evening including Best Overall Film (18th Hour by Phoebe Ruguru) and Best Director (Jade Osiberu for Isoken).

Now, let's get right into some of the most unforgettable moments from the 2018 AMVCAs.

1. Cobhams Asuquo's performance

Cobhams is a musical whiz and this much was evident during his AMVCA performance. The award-winning producer had us in stitches with his song which was parody on entertainers. In one fell swoop he had us mesmerised by his voice, skill on the piano, and who can forget his line ''let me blow like Odunlade...?''

2. IK Osakioduwa serenading a woman in the audience

Still along the lines of musical parodies, IK, while trying to announce the soundtrack award category, found a woman in the audience who was seated next to her husband and sang his heart out to her, much to the amusement of everyone including the woman's husband who seemed resigned to how things were playing out.

IK never disappoints.

Bisola delivered an emotional speech at the AMVCAs

3. Bisola winning the trailblazer award

When Africa first encountered Bisola Aiyeola in the Big Brother Naija house in 2017, it was clear that she was very gifted. Now less than 2 years after her exit from the house, Bisola nabbed the trailblazer award and delivered one of the most memorable acceptance speeches of the evening; after giving us one of the best performances of the evening with her rendition of Evanescence's ''My Immortal''.

Bisola, who had no clue that she was going to win an award raced to the stage, shrieking in excitement all the way, and when Iretiola Doyle handed her the key to the car that came with the award, she darned near screamed the walls off.

Definitely unforgettable.

Ngozi Nwosu and Falz shared a selfie moment on the AMVCA stage

4. Ngozi Nwosu's 'selfie time'

In the last few weeks, we've been inundated with the Airtel ad featuring Ngozi Nwosu crashing her grandchild's naming ceremony as she summons her crew for ''selfie time''.

So it was only natural that when she took to the stage to present the award for Best Male performance in a comedic role, she recreated her famous selfie time moment with Falz, who won the award.

Entertainers all the way.

5. Falz calling on youths to vote

On the off chance that you don't know, Folarin 'Falz The Bahd Guy' Falana is the son of leading human rights activist, Femi Falana. In recent times, we've seen the young lad tow his father's activist line particularly with his hit cover song 'This Is Nigeria', and last night, we caught a glimpse of Falz the activist again.

Falz urged young people to get their voter's card, and come out to vote, for only then ''will we achieve the Nigeria we all dream of''.

Definitely not something we see everyday.

Toyin Abraham and Odunlade Adekola presented the award for Best Indigenous movie (Yoruba)

6. Odunlade Adekola and Toyin Abraham award presentation

Just the picture of these two on the same stage is something to play back over and over again, and when they got together to present the award for Best Indigenous Movie (Yoruba), best believe they had the audience in stitches.

7. Charles 'Na Dem Dey Rush Us' Inoje

It's the latest slang in town, na dem dey rush us, resurrected from an old movie starring Charles Inoje.

So when the Nollywood actor was called on stage to present an award, it was only fitting that he re-enacted the scene leaving us with a moment that will always be remembered in AMVCA history.

Tobi and Alex on stage at the AMVCA

8. Alex and Tobi banter

Former Big Brother Naija housemates, Alex and Tobi have been known to bring on the drama both inside the BBNaija house and outside. Recently, news broke that the pair had unfollowed each other on Instagram, with Alex later coming out to say that she actually blocked Tobi in a moment of anger, then unblocked him again.

The pair then took to the AMVCA stage to rehash their quarell.

''Alex shebi you blocked me on Instagram, oya come and block me here now'' Tobi queried as soon as they hit the stage.

Clearly these two need some time back in the Big Brother Naija house.
