As the Kwara state Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) continue its governorship primary election which was disrupted on Sunday due to inability for them to put themselves together, Eight aspirants have withdrawn from the gubernatorial primary of the party in the state.

Those that have withdrawn from the race are Dr Ali Ahmad, Alh Saka Isau,SAN,Alh Ladi Hassan, Ibrahim Ajia, Mal Bolaji Abdullahi, Hon. Zakari Mohammed and Hon. Ahman Pategi.

The contest is now a straight fight between House of Representatives member, Barr. Razak Atunwa from Kwara Central and Senator Sha'aba Lafiagi from Kwara north.

The aspirants announced their withdrawal from the race at the ongoing primary election holding at Banquet hall, Ilorin which is well organized than yesterday where the voters were all complaining of heat due to the large number of people in the banquet hall but the reverse is the case today as only the voters entered the hall as security were also beef up at the entrance.

Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed who explained that the 8 aspirants withdrew from the race because of the party's interest thanked them for their act of magnanimity.

The governor also thanked the state's political leader, Dr Bukola Saraki for his wise counseling and purposeful leadership which have kept members of the PDP united in the state.

The voting has commenced, and delegates are conducting themselves in an orderly manner.
