"Can anyone shake the foundations of the earth without money?" NO! Abi?

Money is good for it answers all things, but the love of money is also the root of all evil.

These are two scriptures that most Christians know, but how much they have applied these in their daily lives remains to be seen.

May be after reading this to the end, their eyes will open to why they should be wealthy.

This is not the usual message on prosperity as heard in churches, but it is an eye opener that will help anyone that believes and practise the principles here become wealthy.

It beats imagination how people, who are so conversant with the two scriptures highlighted above let the wicked unbelievers hold their wealth.

"Our God owns the cattle on a thousand hill, many say, but can barely have their three square meal without tearing their pockets beyond saving measures.

Why are the unbelievers wealthier than those who say they are Christians to the extent that even Jesus Christ stressed the need for children of light to learn from a shrewd steward in Luke 16:1-13?.

Here are a few things Christians should know about money making as highlighted in the Holy book.

1.       Attitude Towards Money

One thing that has held most Christians bound and stopped them from getting wealthy is their attitude and mentality towards money.

Money, like gold, comes to those who desire it and know the value.

There are very dedicated Christians who are still managing to survive to the extent that people wonder why their state has been like that.

In the Scriptures Jesus Christ once said that “it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God” (Matt 19:24).

Right here is one scripture that has held people bound in their minds because they have concluded that a wealthy man will find it hard to make heaven.

They want to make heaven and so they have forgotten that Abraham, who is the father of those in faith, was a wealthy man and he came down from heaven on mount of transfiguration. This cancels every doubt that a wealthy man can make heaven.

Peter and John were witnesses to this fact.

poor attitude to money making

Until some Christians change their mentality about money making, they will continue to look away from every genuine opportunity that could make them wealthy.

Opportunities may not even come because what the mind dwells long enough on, manifests in the physical.

Don’t just seat and complain about how bad Nigeria has become.

Spend that time in reasoning what to do to make money. Ideas only come to the one who sits and reasons it out. It is always sitting in the mind of every individual. Only those who engage in reasoning bring them to reality.

The population of Nigeria can drive any business if it is well managed and packaged.

2.       Poor Planning Culture

Most Christians have left so many things to chance, believing that wealth will happen because Ecclesiastes 9:11 stated that “the race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favour to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all”.

This statement has forced many to abandon planning as a necessary requirement for making progress in live.

It has to be deliberate.

If a man continues to look up to God for a good job, but refuses to identify companies he would like to work with, he will as well become old waiting for the job to come or at best, he will just be employed by anyone and he will take it.

As much as God is the great provider, an individual who wants to prosper should have a plan.

Even Jesus Christ highlighted the need for planning when he asked, “for which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? (Luke 14:28)”.

Right there is the need for planning and goal setting highlighted for believes to engage in, but many have left life to happen to them, depending on time and chance.

3.       Poor Saving Culture

Matthew 6:19-21 says: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also”.

This statement has been taken by some Christians hook-line-and-sinker, with many of them trashing the need to save funds for rainy days.

But in Proverbs 6:6-8, one of the wisest men that have lived highlighted the need to learn from the ant which stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.

Poor saving culture

Okay if this one does not make sense to you, why did Jesus Christ have a purse for the mission usually kept by the betrayer, Judas?

God loves people who make plans and follow through to a logical conclusion. Remember He planned the salvation of the world right in the Garden of Eden.

This here also highlights why Christians should form the habit of saving at least a certain percentage from their earnings.

Begin from a small amount and remember that if you continue to wait until the income in plenty, the insatiable desire of humans will ensure that the money will never enough. It is based on on discipline that people save not based on surplus.

Save from every income you earn.

4.       Poor Investment Culture

Christians have also looked at the life of Jesus Christ to say, he had no earthly property or inheritance and as such, a genuine Christian should have no early inheritance.

In Proverbs 13:22 the wise Solomon wrote: “A good person leaves an inheritance for their children's children, but a sinner's wealth is stored up for the righteous”.

If you are not investing from what you earn today, what inheritance will you leave for your children and their own children.

Here is one verse of the Holy book that highlights the need for us to invest.

Ecclesiastes 11:1 says; “cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days”.

Here lies the truth about investment that Christians need to begin to engage in. the truth is that the bread will float, this time, multiplied.

Every well thought out investment that does not have anything to do with greed, will turn out to be great.

When greed takes hold of the mind, poor investment judgements will be made. Those who invested in MMM and other get-rich-quick schemes and lost money will tell this story better.

5.       Lack Of Knowledge About Why They Should Be Rich

Should a Christian even be rich?

YES.

There is a task laid ahead of Christians and that is to promote the gospel in every aspect and this will require finance to achieve it. The money is here on earth and not coming from heaven.

Wealthy people of the world that the bible referred to as the wicked hold the wealth of the righteous as we speak, and they are pushing all sought of policies that will cover the light in a believer’s life.

knowledge about why you should be rich

It is yours for the taking if you believe in what is in Proverbs 13:22 - “The wealth of the wicked is reserved for the righteous”.

Men of influence and means are fighting hard to make the belief in God die and they are spending money.

Christians should match this fight by also becoming men of means and influence to be able to resist the advances of these wicked people.

It delights God to bless Christians beyond measure if only they will seek genuine means of making money and trust God for multiplication.

He is waiting to bless the works of your hands as a Christian, but you must be able to present a genuine reason He should bless you and make you a blessing to others.

If you have ever sang “Abraham blessings are mine,” those blessings are yours, but you must also know that there are things to do for this money to come to you.

Seek first the Kingdom of God, and all the things that many are dying to get, will be added to you freely by the one who owns the cattle on a thousand hills.

6.     Giving

Several times, it has been said that he that gives will receive in multiple fold. We do not need to hammer this one so much.

There is no rich man out there that do not give.

Bill Gates contributes to Nigeria’s health sector and that has ensured that his Microsoft software is in 90% of computers in Nigeria if not all. What a big market it is for him.

The giver will always remain the receiver.

7.     Prayer

A Christian who does not pray is like a boy who wants something from his father, but does not see the need to come to him and ask.

Prayer is the only means that Christians can connect with God, who they see as their father, and it is a task. Remember that when Jesus Christ taught his disciples the Lords Prayer he said; "when you pray" and not if you pray.

prayer

It is through prayer that a Christian makes his/her request known to God (his/her father) who also responds and hold not back.

If you have prayed and nothing is happening, check if you have kept the other requirements for your prayer to be answered.

Any Christian that does not see God as his father, that one na Christian?
