9ice is 38!

To mark the event, the  ‘Alapomeji’ crooner got himself some new tatts on his arm.

The singer, who is signed to Temple Music, shared a picture of the tattoo on his Instagram page.

In a post next to the picture of his ‘new addition’ to his body, he explains the meaning of the tattoos which are lines of various thickness drawn round his arm.

“The 6 Lines represent my 6 most memorable years at Abule okuta primary school bariga Lagos. Each line represent a year. The thickness represent my pain my gain my progress and my understanding of life..” he explained.

Here 7 things you may not know about the artiste

1.   9ice was studying to become a lawyer at Lagos State University before he dropped out to pursue music full time.

2.   He started his music career with a boy band called Mysterious Boys and he later formed his own band, called Abinbi.
    
3.   He recorded his first single, Risi De Alagbaja, in 1996.

4.   9ice has won several awards including the MTV Africa Music Award, HipHop World Awards and the SoundCity Music Awards.

5.   In 2015, he joined the All Progressive Congress (APC) and declared his interest to contest for a seat at the Federal House of Representatives. He lost out during the primaries.

6.  He is now a special adviser to the Oyo State Government.

7.  Even after setting up Alapomeji Ancestral Records(AAR), 9ice is signed to Temple Music, which has former Big Brother Housemate, Bisola on its roaster.

When Bounce News reached out to 'The Ancestor' the musician confirmed that his birthday will be a low key celebration, with no new single to accompany the happy day, except for the tattoo.
