6 Nollywood Stars To Watch In 2018
These film stars had a great 2017.
Bounce News has put together a list of six screen stars to watch out for in 2018.
This list is based on how successful they were in 2017, and the projects that they have lined up in 2018.
1. Bisola Aiyeola
Bisola no doubt had a great 2017. Although she'd appeared in a number of productions prior to her sojourn in the Big Brother Nigeria house, the reality show launched her into international fame.
But specifically, the Big Brother Naija star was outstanding in her supportive roles on two web series "Skinny Girl in Transit" and "Life of a Nigerian Couple". She was also easy to watch in the critically acclaimed "Picture Perfect".
She showed her ability to channel various emotions, sometimes without saying a word as Ovy in “Ovy’s Voice” and Simi in “Glimpse,"
Her roles are believable, and in 2018, we expect to see her take up more roles.
2. Bolanle Ninalowo
His role was almost perfect in "Picture Perfect".
Bolanle Ninalowo went off his regular tangent of a 'fine boy' to acting as an 'area boy'. A character that everyone fell in love with in the movie.
His acting skills made the role 'tailor made' just for him.
In 2018, we expect Bolanle Ninalow to take advantage of this new found love from Nollywood fans and launch into super stardom.
Ademoye has starred in a number of Iroko TV movies such as "The Backup Wife," "Diary of a Crazy Nigerian Woman," and "It's About Your Husband".
She has also featured in TV series like "Desperate House Girls" and "This Is It."
The talented actress will be starring in a film titled "Getting Over Him," which debuts in cinemas this January.
4. Zainab Balogun
Balogun is cementing herself as a household name in Nollywood.
She is best known for her role as Wonu in "The Wedding Party", and has also appeared in films and TV series such as "Entreat," "Before 30," "Ojukokoro," "Entreat," "A Soldier's Story" and "Verdict."
Zainab Balogun is the central character of the upcoming film ''The Royal Hibiscus Hotel'' which premiered at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival and will hit cinemas this January.
Going by the clout of movies that come out of the stable of Ebony Films, we expect Zainab to dominate conversation in 2018.
5. Charles Etubiebi
His role in "Ojukokoro" was the breakout role for this talented actor and hopefully after being the only bright light in the disastrous web series "Lagos Big Boys," he will get the deserved recognition this 2018.
He stars in Mildred Okwo's anticipated TV series, "Bankers NGR," which is set to premiere this year.
6. Akah Nnani
After portraying a sergeant in the 2017 movie “Banana Island Ghost”, Nnani made viewers realize that his talent goes beyond hosting a Vlog.
Hopefully, 2018 will offer him more roles that will propel him into further limelight.
