Attackers are not stopping, people continue to die and family members are left mourning.

When will the killing stop? When will Plateau state know peace again?

These are the questions on the lips of some Nigerians as they continue to hope that security agencies in the country can stop the menace that has bedeviled the state.

Sunday night, a fresh attack by gunmen left five people dead and injured three others at Inding village, a community in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.

Confirming the attack, Plateau police spokesperson, Terna Tyopev, appealed that people should stop taking arms against one another.

“There was an attack at Inding village last night (Sunday), five persons were killed, three injured,”

“At the moment, I cannot give further details about the deaths, but will get the names and ages of the victims later.” He told Premium Times on Monday morning.

Plateau State is one of the states ravaged by perennial bloodletting and violence mostly caused by herdsmen.

President Muhammadu Buhari recently visited the state to assess the security situation.
