5 Celebrity BFFs That Have Stood The Test Of Time
Friends are the family we get to choose. They share our highs, lows and everything in between.
When you're in show business, good friends become even more valuable because as any entertainer in Nigeria will tell you, there's no padi for jungle. Simply put - the Nigerian entertainment industry is extremely competitive and at the end of the day, everyone is only looking out for themselves.
Some celebs have however been able to beat the odds by forging strong bonds within the industry, complementing each other and reminding us all that true friendship still exists.
Here are 5 celebrity pals who have stood the test of time.
1. Omawumi and Waje
These two have been pals for longer than we can remember. Through music projects, baby daddy drama and more, Omawumi and Waje have cheered and supported each other. Earlier in the year, Waje was in Warri for Omawumi's wedding, and it's not unusual to see Omawumi promote Waje's singles on her social media platforms, not to mention how they constantly tease each other.
They've even managed to work together on a few tracks and while we still await a joint EP from the power vocal duo, we'll keep enjoying the warmth and banter they bring to us via the 'gram.
2. Genevieve Nnaji and Oluchi Orlandi
Unarguably one of Nigeria's most private celebrities, Genevieve is notably very tight-lipped about her private life and nothing ever gets out of her camp. The reason is simple - she's kept her circle extremely small through the years.
While the origin of her friendship with super model, Oluchi Orlandi is not completely known to us, we do know that the duo are part of a larger clique that comprises Genevieve's BFF, Chinny Onwugbenu and Model/Media Personality, Ojy Okpe. The trio are also tight with popular stylist, Veronica Odeka and PR specialist, Vanessa Amadi.
Clearly a super tight squad, the ladies have supported each other through their various ventures and teased us with their exotic vacation photos on the 'gram.
3. Uche Jombo, Omoni Oboli, Chioma Akpotha and Ufuoma Mcdermott
The 'Fantastic 4', as they're fondly called, have been serving us major #friendshipgoals for a long time now.
Hardworking, happily married and largely scandal-free, Uche, Omoni, Chioma and Ufuoma have been a walking poster for the fact that it's not only possible to be a married and successful female entertainer in Nigeria, but also female entertainers can in fact remain friends, and support each other in their respective projects. The gal pals have been known to collaborate on movie projects like 'Wives Revolt' and 'Okafor's Law' to name a few. Not to mention, they all rock a natural fro, what's not to love?
4. Banky W and Ebuka Obi-Uchendu
Banky and Ebuka are #friendgoals on a whole new level because not only have these two sustained a friendship that's spanned several years in entertainment, they've now transcended to business partners.
In February 2018, Banky announced the dissolution of his Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) label, stating that he would now be evolving the business to a Marketing/Advertising/Public Relations venture, and his signees included wife, Adesua Etomi and BFF, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.
So now, not only do the pair give us warm vibes with their bromance, they're also smiling all the way to the bank with their star power.
5. Adesua Etomi and Linda Ejiofor
Before Banky and Adesua, there was Linda and Adesua.
From their car singing moments to their slaying on the red carpet, Adesua and Linda had us all wishing for real life BFFs with whom we could have as much fun as the pair seemed to have in each other's company.
These days, even though Adesua is a very married woman whose got eyes for only Mr W, the yellow paw-paws still keep us tickled when they show up in each other's comment sections on the 'gram.
