5 Albums Nigerians Would Love To Buy In 2018
2017 was an amazing year for Nigerian music with hit singles and albums from musicians like Wizkid, Falz, Tiwa Savage, Simi, Niniola and Maleek Berry.
Giving how good last year was for music, we can only expect better next year, including albums from some artistes.
Below are 5 artistes Nigerians would love to hear an album from in 2018.
1. Adekunle Gold
Since Adekunle Gold burst into public consciousness in 2015, there's been no slowing down for the alternative singer.
Following his exit from YBNL in 2016, 2017 saw a string of performances from him alongside his ''79th Element'' band which culminated in his sold out concert which held last December.
Adekunle Gold is expected to drop an album this year titled "About 30".
Tekno is a talented musician and producer. His list of chart-topping singles including "Rara", "Pana" and "Only One" are all screaming to be put into an album.
Following talk of him being signed to Drake's OVO, after he was photographed with the Canadian rapper recently, we're hopeful that this new direction will spur the release of an album for him in 2018.
3. Seyi Shay
Seyi Shay's debut album, "Seyi or Shay", was a favourite with fans.
The album had Patoranking, Wizkid, Shaydee, Iyanya, Flavour and Banky W. Early 2017 saw the release of hit single "Yolo". It was followed by "Weekend Vibes", "Your Matter" and most recently "Bia".
With these, it is likely 2018 will see an album release from the "Right Now" singer.
Omo Baba Olowo scored all the musicial marks in 2017 with "If", "Fall", "Fia" and "Like Dat".
Each song he released last year showed his artistic growth, and an album project from him would not be a bad idea.
5. Maleek Berry
Following the success of a brilliant EP, titled "Last Daze of Summer", Maleek Berry released the follow-up EP, "First Daze of Winter" this January.
The EP could easily be a 'warm up' to the release of a new body of work with mores songs, already the single ''Pon My Mind'' is playing musical tricks with the mind of listeners.
Please drop those albums oh, we are waiting.
