49 Years After: FBI Accuses Martin Luther King Of Sexual Misconduct
Even for a dead man, this is bad.
Rev. Martin Luther King Jr’s reputation continued to soar close to half a century after he was assassinated in 1968.
But this latest information released by America’s special police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI could as well damage the civil rights activist’s post humus reputation.
It is not clear what FBI intended to achieve with the release of such information, but the world got it after all, after FBI released a report declassified as part of the newly released John F. Kennedy assassination files.
The file claims Martin Luther King Jr had an "all-night sex orgy" at a training workshop.
The report released on Friday was written just weeks before the revered civil rights leader was assassinated in 1968, and details allegations about a workshop King held earlier that year in Miami.
The report, dated March 12, 1968, quotes one minister attending King’s workshop in Miami as “expressing his disgust with the behind-the-scene drinking, fornication, and homosexuality that went on at the conference”.
‘Several Negro and white prostitutes were brought in from the Miami area. An all-night-sex orgy was held with these prostitutes and some of the delegates in attendance,’ the document goes on.
The report claims that a large table at the event was filled with whiskey, and “two Negro prostitutes were paid $50.00 to put on a sex show for the entertainment of guests”.
Many of Kings admirers globally would find these allegations quite shocking and incredible.
It is not clear whether the FBI was able to confirm any of the salacious claims it included in the analysis, and they could not be independently verified.
