4 Things Nigeria Got From German Chancellor Merkel’s Visit
German Chancellor Angela Merkel may have come and gone, but her visit left a few things for Nigeria that you should know.
There are 4 things that Nigeria got from that visit and the government has listed them for you to know.
Before Merkel arrived at the State House, some meetings were held between officials of the German government and business delegation from her nation and several agreements were reached.
1. Signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the German-African Business Association and the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines & Agriculture (NACCIMA).
2. Signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL) and Petkus Technologie of Germany, aimed at significantly reducing the incidence/impact of post-harvest losses in Nigeria’s Agriculture Value Chain.
3. Signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Volkswagen of South Africa to develop a joint vision for an automotive hub.
This was contained in a statement by Ministry of Industry, Trade & Investment.
4. Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between German Hydro electric company Voith and Nigerian power company Genesis Energy.
The Nigerian Delegation at this meeting includes: Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Okechukwu Enelamah , and officials from Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL) , National Automative Design and Development Council (NADDC), Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines & Agriculture (NACCIMA) were present.
The German- Nigerian Business Roundtable was was attended by President Muhammadu Buhari and Chancellor Angela Merkel.
