It is double tragedy for the family of an impeached Local Government chairman in Niger State.

Less than two days after chairman of Munya Local Government Council of Niger, Yahuza Mohammed, was impeached, his three sisters have been kidnapped by gunmen.

The three sisters were abducted at about 1.30 am on Saturday, at the local council chairman’s residence in Kuchi community, while the impeached politician was not around.

Report says the kidnappers have placed a call to the chairman demanding N150 million ransom for the release of the girls.

Yahuza Mohammed was removed by his councilors on Friday for alleged gross misconduct and maladministration.

He was accused of alleged diversion of the council resources and awarding capital projects without approval of the house.
