Men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested three members of an armed robbery syndicate who have been terrorizing Ogijo and its environs for quite some time now.

The suspects were arrested at about 9pm on Saturday, during one of their robbery operations.

Policemen attached to Ogijo Divisional Headquarters received a distress call from no 6 Baale Street, Molatori Ogijo that robbers had invaded their residence and they were being dispossessed of their belongings.

The DPO of Ogijo Division, SP Tijani Mohammed quickly led his anti-robbery men to the scene where they engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel.

At the end of the encounter, three members of the syndicate namely; Yusuf Odugbemi (male), Tunde Asamu (male) and Sunday Azeez (male) were arrested while others escaped.

Also recovered from them were one live cartridge, two cutlasses and assorted charms.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, has since ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to FSAR for discreet investigation with the view of arresting the fleeing members of the syndicate; while assuring residents of the state of adequate security at all time.
