Saibu Popoola, Aliu Ajiroba and Jimoh Ijiola are in police net for allegedly having human skulls in their bag.

They were arrested on Thursday by officials of the Nigeria police Force in Ogun State.

Police say Popoola and Ajiroba were earlier arrested in Aiyetoro during police patrol.

They claimed that the 2 skulls in their bag were given to them by Ijiola.

The spokesman for the police in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed their arrest in a statement.

“Our men conducted a search on them and two skulls were seen in their bag.

“They were arrested and taken to Aiyetoro Police Station where they told the police that the skulls were given to them by one Jimoh Ijiola who lives in Erinpa area of Aiyetoro.

“Our men also arrested Ijiola at the said residence on Thursday but he denied that he gave them the skulls.

“He, however, confessed that the trio normally get skulls from the Republic of Benin for the purpose of rituals,” he said.

Oyeyemi said the Commissioner of Police had directed that the case be transferred to the ‎state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (CIID) for further investigation.
