2019: Why Saraki Is Happy After PDP Presidential Aspirants Met
Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aspiring to get the presidential ticket of the opposition party met on Tuesday in Abuja.
Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, was part of that meeting and he came out enthusiastic of the party's future.
Also at the meeting were the party's leadership and State governors.
After the meeting Dr. Saraki shared some reasons he was enthusiastic and happy with what transpired.
"We just concluded a successful meeting of PDP Presidential aspirants with the party leadership and State Governors.
"I am proud of the level of collaboration, commitment and camaraderie amongst all those in attendance.
"There was a general determination and commitment to ensure that the party holds successful, credible and transparent presidential primaries that Nigeria will be proud of.
"We remain a happy family — flying the flag of democracy!," he said.
One other outcome of the meeting was the adjustment of the party's time table for primary elections. A new schedule was also released on the party's Twitter page.
It says the governorship primaries will now hold on Thursday September 27, 2018, nationwide and no longer Wednesday September 26, 2018, as earlier published.
