Politics has a way of making people express their rights and the elder brother of Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has torn apart the popular saying ‘blood is thicker than water".

You may not have imagined it, but Birma Dauda has declared his support for President Muhammadu Buhari in the presidential battle holding next year.

Dauda explained that he believed that despite the conflicting opinions between people whose expectations Buhari met and those he didn’t meet, they would all reach a middle ground and re-elect him come February 2019.

In his words, “Yes, Buhari is my friend, while Atiku is my younger brother, but if my friend, whom I have worked with previously, is pitted against my younger brother for an election, I will stick with my friend.
“Both of them mean much to me, but sincerely speaking, I will stick with my friend because it will be unethical to drop my friend and stay with my younger brother, especially when I’m in APC, and Buhari is the APC flag bearer, while Atiku, my younger brother is in PDP, and I’m not in PDP, therefore, you will expect me to follow the party, which I belong and vote Buhari.”

The former minister also expressed optimism that the 2019 general elections would be peaceful.
