2019: See Why Saraki Says 'Kwara Is Fully PDP'
The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, who defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) few months ago, is confident that his state, Kwara, has been fully taken over by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Dr. Saraki is in his state for the Yuletide and the rousing welcome he received may have triggered his statement.
He shared a video of himself being cheered by the aged in the state, with some of them screaming, PDP.
This is coming days after the Kwara State High Court recognised the executive committee of the Isola Balogun-Fulani faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state who are ardent supporters of the Senate President.
Though they have not defected, they have not shifted grounds on their support for the Senate leader.
The party’s National Working Committee (NWC), led by Adams Oshiomhole in June suspended and subsequently dissolved the Balogun-Fulani-led executive for conducting a parallel congress.
In its place, the party constituted a caretaker committee led by Bashir Bolarinwa.
Dissatisfied with the development, Balogun-Fulani approached the State High Court, praying for the reversal of the decision and a declaration of the decision as illegal.
Delivering judgment yesterday, Justice T. S. Umar held that the purported dissolution of the Balogun-Fulani-led exco is illegal, null and void.
