2019: PDP Rejects INEC’s Position On Ogun
The Peoples Democratic Party has rejected the decision of the Independent national Elecoral to publish the list of candidates submitted by the Adebayo Dayo-led state executive committee of Ogun for the 2019 general elections.
INEC had on Tuesday notified the national leadership of the party of its decision.
The commission said it recognises the list of candidates for the 2019 general elections submitted to it by the Dayo-led State Executive Committee of the party in Ogun State.
Dayo- led executive is the camp of the Senator Buruji Kashamu, the lawmaker representing Ogun East Senatorial district, who was expelled by the PDP a few months ago.
But the party's national leadership on Wednesday warned INEC not to accept nominations from state chapters of the party.
In a press briefing by the National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, the party said it was in court on the matter.
Ologbondiyan said the party rejected the list submitted by the Dayo-led group because the nomination forms filled by candidates from the group were not endorsed by the leadership of the party.
