2019: PDP Is Broke And Hungry - Amaechi

The Director General, President Muhammadu Buhari/Osinbajo 2019 Campaign, Rotimi Amaechi has publicly ridiculed the the opposition Peoples Democratic party, saying they are broke and hungry.

The Director-General of the President Muhammadu Buhari reelection campaign, Rotimi Amaechi says the opposition Peoples Democratic party (PDP) is broke and hungry.

Amaechi, who is also the Minister of Transportation, said this at a political rally organised to receive 18 prominent PDP members in Bauchi who had defected to APC.

18 defectors, among whom include; 2 former governors of Bauchi state, Adamu Mu’azu and Isa Yuguda, former deputy governor Abdulmalik Mahmud and former PDP chieftain, Babayo Garba Gamawa, were received by the President Muhammadu Buhari campaign DG.

The minister said the PDP has the plan “to come back to steal”.

“They are broke, they are hungry and because they are broke, they are looking for cheap means of fund and we look at them when they say you are hungry,” he said.

“They have easily forgotten that they stole $2 billion US Dollars to prosecute 2015 election but we won. We listen to our colleagues at the other divide and say that you are hungry because they stole all the money meant for you.

“We want to assure you that we will not fail you and will never fail you. Bauchi is our traditional state we come to rest not to campaign.

“I was here in 2015 and saw what politicians called mammoth crowd, that is crowd that cannot be counted.”

President Buhari said his government has achieved a lot in the areas of security, economy and anti-corruption. He welcomed the defectors while pleading with them to work for the success of the Party at the polls.

“Since my political career, Bauchi State has always stood with me by voting massively for me at every turn of my political endeavour. I thank you very much for your support, and plead with you to support me again.

Ali Ndume, a senator from Borno State, said the 16 years of PDP in power was used to acquire wealth to extend their power.

Ndume, who is also the campaign director of Buhari/Osinbajo in the north-east, said that Buhari has fulfilled the promises he made in 2015 on security, economic diversification and war against corruption.

“Nigerians are today left with two options to either choose those who have the country at heart or those who will destroy the country,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Isa Yuguda said “We are happy to join the APC party after seeing all the progress the party has recorded in the last 3 and half years. We will mobilize massively for the re-election of the President and the Governor of our State”.

Welcoming the defectors, the National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole thanked the defectors and chided Atiku and the PDP over their alleged plan to sell NNPC, saying that “Atiku and PDP will sell NNPC the way the sold NITEL and Nigerian Airways”.
