Two of Nigeria’s top business minds are really throwing their hats in the ring this time.

Nigerian professor and former presidential aspirant Pat Utomi has revealed his intention to run for Governor of Delta State in the coming 2019 elections, while billionaire entrepreneur, executive director and co-founder of Sahara Group, Tonye Patrick Cole will be running for Governor of Rivers state.

Pat Utomi and Tonye Cole are both running under the aegis of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and they shared photos of themselves  collecting and submitting their nomination forms at the APC headquarters in Abuja.

Pat Utomi while explaining why he was contesting said he would be governor for all.

"I am motivated to join this race in order to rescue Delta State from the rot it has been experiencing; not for personal interests nor for the interest of a few but for the interest all Deltans. I will be Governor for all.”

While Tonye Cole says he has the right connections and necessary experience needed to improve the economic status of Rivers state.

“From an industry perspective, I have been operating at the global level; I travel a lot, I have worked with a lot of people and people know me for doing business with passion.

"We believe that we can attract investment and secure investment in Rivers,” he explained after submitting his forms.
