The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Organisation (PPCO) has appointed former governors of Jigawa and Kaduna states – Sule Lamido and Ahmed Makarfi – as technical advisers to the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Others that will also lead the campaign are the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.

The appointment was announced on Monday by the spokesperson of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan, who said Lamido would also served as the Chairman of Elder’s Council for the campaign team.

A former Chairman of the PDP, Kawu Baraje, was named as technical adviser to the Director-General of the campaign, Senate President Bukola Saraki.

Similarly, a former Special Assistant on Public Affairs to Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Doyin Okupe, was named media adviser to Saraki.

Lamido and Makarfi ran against Atiku for the PDP ticket while Ekweremadu has been speculated as being aggrieved for being overlooked for nomination as running mate after former Anambra governor, Peter Obi emerged as the preferred choice.
