2019: Have You Seen Buhari’s Digitised APC Membership Card?
President Muhammadu Buhari has a new membership card of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and he is flaunting it.
The President received the card on Wednesday at the APC Headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria's capital.
It was a digitised APC membership card and it was handed over to him by the Chairman of the party, Mr Adams Oshiomhole.
At the event were the National Secretary of the APC, Mr Mai Mala Buni, APC Deputy National Chairman (North) Senator Lawal Shuaibu and APC Majority Leader Senator Ahmed Lawan.
The card is the party's new identification for its members and it is replacing the old card that was not digital.
According to the party's constitution, membership of the Party is open to any citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria who has attained the age of 18 years and who accepts the aims and objectives of the Party, provided that such a person is not a member of any other political party or any
organisation whose policies and programmes are inconsistent with those of the Party.
There is, however, a clause that stipulates what the member must fulfil to obtain the membership card.
Upon enrolment, every member shall pay prescribed fees and shall be issued with a Membership Card and a Dues Card, the constitution also stated.
At the event, President Buhari also submitted his 45 million Naira nomination form for the presidential ticket of the APC.
