2019: David Mark Joins Presidential Race
Former Senate President, David Mark will on Tuesday, September 4, pick his presidential interest and nomination forms ahead of the 2019 presidential election.
The former Senate President will contest on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Mark will be joining his successor, Bukola Saraki, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Atiku Abubakar and others to battle for the PDP presidential ticket.
Mark, a former military governor of Niger State had earlier dumped his presidential ambition to contest the Benue South Senatorial seat for the sixth time.
However, sources said Mark, after a marathon meeting with some of his close associates, including Tunde Ogbeha in his Abuja residence decided to throw in the ring.
The source said, “As we speak, he (Mark) is warming up to run for the office of the President. He would be picking his nomination forms on Tuesday, September 4th.
“He is still reluctant but the intervention of his long-time friend, Tunde Ogbeha gave him the courage to join the race,” the source said.
National coordinator of Door2Door for David Mark, James Oche, said his principal, after a nationwide consultation has decided to join the presidential race to salvage the entity called Nigeria from a total collapse.
“Yes, the last man standing has arrived. He would be picking his forms on Tuesday. It is time to save Nigeria from collapse.”
