Former military President Ibrahim Babangida must have a really important role to play in the 2019 presidential elections.

PDP’s presidential aspirants cannot just do without him as visiting his Minna hilltop home for ‘consultation’ seems to have become a ritual.

Sen. David Mark is the latest on the list of visitors that includes Senate President, Bukola Saraki; former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, former governors Attahiru Bafarawa, Sule Lamido and Ahmed Makarfi.

Mark arrived Minna, capital of Niger State to hold a private meeting with the former leader on Saturday and the meeting lasted for two hours.

It is worth adding that David Mark was the communications minister during Babangida’s rule (1985-1993).

The 70-year-old Mark was also a military governor and has been a senator since 1999, serving as senate president for eight years - from 2007 to 2015.
