President Muhammadu Buhari has begun his campaign for a second term in earnest, and his next stop is Jos, the Plateau State capital.

Buhari, alongside National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Presidential Campaign Council Co-Chairman Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole, will be in Jos on Saturday to win the hearts of residents ahead of the general elections.

Deputy Governor Plateau State Sonni Tyoden told reporters in Jos that a large gathering is being expected.

“The President’s visit to Plateau will afford him the opportunity to once again seek votes.

“As usual, we are expecting a large gathering of party faithful from all the 17 local government areas of the state.”

Buhari was in Lokoja on Wednesday, where he canvassed for votes from Kogi state residents.

The president is facing tough opposition from rival Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Nigeria’s presidential election will hold on February 16, 2019.
