Some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are closing ranks after the presidential primary election produced a former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, as its candidate.

On Sunday, Abubakar and a former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, who also contented the primaries, met and further discussed how all top members of the PDP and their supporters would work together to ensure that the party wins the 2019 presidential election and 'make Nigeria work again'.

The meeting was held at the residence of the former Vice President in Abuja.

After the meeting Atiku promised to work for Nigerians and not build a legacy of personal interest.

He said: "Last night, I received Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso and his supporters at my home.
