2019: Atiku Asks North To Unite Against Buhari
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said that Northern Nigeria can only benefit if the people are united.
Atiku stated this while paying a courtesy call on Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo of Gombe state, on Monday.
He said displacing President Muhammadu Buhari in the forthcoming elections can only be achieved if the north unites.
The former VP assured the Gombe state governor, party leaders and delegates of the party of his readiness and commitment to making the PDP more united in the north east sub-region, and the country at large.
"There is every need for a united front from this zone as far as our party the PDP is concerned," he said.
Atiku also congratulated Dankwambo for ensuring the continuity of the PDP leadership in Gombe state in the last general election.
In his remarks, the Gombe state governor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo said the PDP government in the state has adopted good politics of understanding, ideals which has brought cohesion and unity among members and supporters.
The governor said politics of issues is prioritized so that people who are ready to serve are given opportunity to serve the people.
Governor Dankwambo assured Atiku that with such politics in place, he can be sure of support from the people of Gombe state.
"With your presence as a former Vice President in this party, it is proof that gives people the courage that the party is not a party of people with lightweight, we thank you for that," he stated.
Dankwambo and Atiku are both eyeing the presidential ticket of the PDP in the forthcoming general election.
