To run or not to run? That's the question before Nigeria's president.

Ahead of Tuesday’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the party’s national caucus will hold crucial talks with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa on Monday, October 30.

Among those expected to attend are the National Chairman of the party, John Oyegun; the National Leader, Bola Tinubu; Senate President, Bukola Saraki; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; all the APC state governors; and former interim National Chairman, Bisi Akande.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who has spoken publicly about his interest to run for the office of president in 2019, might not attend the meeting.

He is currently out of the country.

Top of the ageneda is the performance of Odigie-Oyegun so far since the party took over governance on May 29, 2015.

17 governors are said to be against the continued reign of Oyegun as the party’s national chairman.

It was further gathered that Buhari and his loyalists might seek to use the leadership meeting to try to secure a badly needed vote of confidence for his administration.

Securing the confidence vote has become very necessary in view of the president’s unconcealed interest in running for a second term in office in 2019.
