All the 22 governors, who are members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), were absent at the inaugural meeting of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC).

Most members of the council, except governors were in attendance at the meeting, held at the conference centre of the State House.

The governors are to serve as State Coordinators in their respective states while Gubernatorial Candidates in non- APC states will serve as state coordinators in their respective states.

No reason was given for their absence.

The 22 APC states are Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Yobe (North east); Kano, Kaduna, Zamfara, Katsina, Kebbi, Jigawa (Northwest); Niger, Plateau, Nasarawa, Kogi (Northcentral); Lagos, Ondo, Ekiti, Osun, Ogun, Oyo (Southwest); Edo (Southsouth); Imo (Southeast).

In his speech, President Muhammadu Buhari said the meeting was convened to consider and approve structure and operational modalities of the campaign council.

In attendance were Bola Tinubu, co-chairman of the campaign council, and Adams Oshiomhole, the APC National Chairman.

Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of Transportation and Director-General of the campaign team,Olurunibe Mamora, deputy Director-General (operations), and Waziri Bulama, deputy Director-General (coordination), are also in attendance.

The zonal directors for the campaign council are also present at the meeting.

They are Aliyu Wamakko (North-West), Ali Ndume (North-East), Abdullahi Adamu (North-Central), Sola Oke (South-West), Sharon Ikeazor (South-East) and Godswill Akpabio (South-South).

Other members of the presidential campaign council present are Senator George Akume, Vice Chairman north, and Ken Nnamani, Vice Chairman .
