2019: 5 Nigerian Musicians To Invite For Your Political Rally
What is a political rally without some music to ‘ginger’ the supporters of an aspirant?
Musicians are no longer a side show at political rallies, but have now turned to a main feature, with entertainers openly supporting their candidate of choice - much like how music superstar Davido campaigned for his uncle during the Osun elections.
Almost every major party has an artiste that is affiliated with them. Said musician either helps sing the praise of their candidates or entertain the crowd.
So, if you are considering having a rally soon, Bounce News brings to you 5 musicians that can literally set the passion of supporters ‘on fire’ at political rallies.
The YBNL boss benefited a lot in the 2015 elections, as he performed at almost every campaign venue for Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
Olamide sang his praises in a number of his songs, and even released a single, 'I Love Lagos' dedicated to showcasing the achievements of the governor in his first year of office.
Davido is from a family of politicians and officeholders, so it’s not a surprise that he took a dive into the murky waters of Nigerian politics.
In 2015, he publicly threw his weight behind President Muhammadu Buhari on the APC train, but with his Uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke vying for the position of the Governor of Osun State, Davido switched his allegiance to PDP; after all, blood is thicker than water.
First, he abruptly ended his tour of the United States the week before the Osun elections, joining in the campaign for his uncle.
Even on his social media handles, he canvassed for votes for his uncle and monitored the polls.
Davido’s uncle lost the election, but no one will forget his influence.
3. K1 DE ULTIMATE
The King of Fuji himself, K1 De Ultimate fits the bill of both a musician and praise singer.
He has been marked as the official artiste on the train of the APC for many years, and proven his loyalty to the party and its leader, Bola Tinubu.
K1 at rallies is a delight to watch, the way he engages the crowd, hypes the candidate and creates an anthem around the name of the person is one of the reasons why he is a compulsory fixture for any serious politician in APC.
He is so influential that his presence can actually swing a couple of votes in the direction of his preferred candidate.
4 .DUNCAN MIGHTY
The Port Harcourt first son has always found a home in politics in his city of birth.
In March 2011, Duncan Mighty joined the campaign train of then Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, when he also organised a celebrity 'Youth Endorsement Concert' in Port Harcourt.
These days, Duncan Mighty pitches his tent with the present Governor, Nyesom Wike, and any other politician who wants to conquer the South South in the 2019 elections will need Duncan by his side.
On March 18, 2011, D'Banj interviewed the then President Goodluck Jonathan, openly showing solitary ahead of the elections.
The Kokomaster is less visible on the political scene lately, but he will still be able to pull crowd at political rallies.
