Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has ruled out the possibility of Lille goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama making the squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Rohr is expressing fears that since Enyeama returned from a long injury layoff in January, he has not played for his club.

“The problem is that Enyeama is not playing much after his injury, that’s the same problem with Alampasu, he’s not playing, he cannot be ready for the competition.”

There has been controversy over the return of Enyeama to the team following his premature retirement from international football.

The goalkeeping department is a major issue Nigeria must resolve before its first 2018 World Cup game on June 16.

The team’s current No 1 Ikechukwu Ezenwa is expected to recover fully by the end of the month from a knee injury he suffered at the recent CHAN in Morocco.

Spain-based youngster Francis Uzoho has also been overlooked by his struggling La Liga club Deportivo La Coruna and the Eagles goalkeeper trainer is expected to soon be in Spain to work personally with the player.
