Moses Simon appears to be a very important figure to Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr, as he dropped two home based players from the 2018 FIFA World Cup-bound squad.

Striker Junior Lokosa and goalkeeper Dele Ajiboye will not fly with the team to London for the international friendly against England in Wembley on Saturday.

Other players dropped are Uche Agbo and Stephen Eze.

Rohr cut down his squad for Wednesday trip, but still included Simon Moses who is injured.

Also in the squad is new boy Simeon Nwankwo, who alongside Lokosa, made their international debut on Monday against DR Congo which ended in a 1-1 draw.

The Nigeria team confirmed that forward Moses Simon, who was earlier ruled out of the finals due to injury, will undergo further medical checks in the United Kingdom to ascertain the seriousness of his injury.
