Cameroon have stopped Nigeria from going to the World Cup on a number of occasions.

The Indomitable Lions are hoping to hurt the Super Eagles again but for ex-Nigeria national team captain, Kanu Nwankwo, the present Super Eagles players can fly high above the Lions only if they believe it is possible.

Kanu in a video message as tweeted by the NFF on Tuesday said he wants the Super Eagles to believe in themselves and also charged the fans to stand firmly behind the team.

He said: "I know my team, the Nigeria Super Eagles can beat the Cameroonian national team. I want them to believe they can do it and then make sure they do it.

"For the fans and the supporters out there, please let us get behind them, support them and give them all that they want from us. Wish them all the best. Thank you and God bless you all. Up Super Eagles!!'

Nigeria at the moment are top of Africa’s 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifying Group B with six points, after wins over Zambia and Algeria in their first two matches.

Another victory in Friday's home clash against Cameroon will take Super Eagles a step closer to Russia.
