Chelsea defender Ola Aina is proud to have gotten a callup to represent Nigeria at the senior international level.

Aina, who is on loan at Hull City, is among 23 players in Uyo for the 2018 World Cup qualifier matches against Cameroon.

Nigeria host Cameroon on Friday in the first leg before heading to Yaounde for the return leg fixed for Monday.

Aina, who could make his international debut in either fixture, is enjoying his time in camp after being initiated into the Super Eagles on Tuesday.

“It was a very proud moment to get called-up by Nigeria and the prospect of representing my country for the first time is very exciting. Everyone wants to play at the highest level and that’s what international level is. For me, it’s very exciting and I want to do really well.

He said the two fixtures against Cameroon are important, despite the fact that they will be tough encounters.

“It should be two good, but very tough games. They’re a physical side and will no doubt be in good spirits after winning the African Cup of Nations in February.

“As I say, it will be tough but I’m very much looking forward to both matches and hopefully playing in the Super Eagles’ colours.”
