Hull City defender Ola Aina will be a year older on Sunday (October 8); just a day after the Nigeria vs Zambia World Cup qualifying match.

The Chelsea loanee has shown good form in the Super Eagles' training sessions ahead of the crunch clash against the Chipolopolo and while a starting role is not likely many expect that Aina should make his international debut with the senior team.

While speaking with Bounce Sports in Uyo, Aina says victory for the Super Eagles will be a perfect birthday gift while making his debut will be the icing on the cake.

"The most important thing is to win and qualify for the World Cup, that would be a perfect birthday gift for me, I will be also happy if the coach calls on me to play a part in the game,” Aina said.

Having played across the England Youth teams before switching allegiance to Nigeria, Aina insists that he is sure that he has done the right thing and has no reasons to regret his decision.

"I am cool with the decision, it was well thought out before I made the move and I am happy I did," he said.

Quite versatile in the defense as he conveniently uses both feet, Aina said he would take up any dictated by the coach.

"Yes, the right-back is my favourite position but I know I can do well in any position the coach deems fit" he concluded.
