Bundesliga defender Leon Balogun has confirmed that he has left his base in Germany where he plays for Mainz 05 to team up with his Super Eagles mates at their Uyo camp.

The Super Eagles team-mates will be up against the reigning African champions Cameroon's Indomitable Lions at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Friday.

This is the first leg of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers before both teams head to Yaounde for the return leg on Monday, September 4.

The Mainz centre-half is returning to the Super Eagles after missing the clash with South Africa in June. He confirmed his departure from the Frankfurt airport on his Twitter account on Monday.

Balogun is expected to partner William Troost-Ekong in the Eagles' central defense against the Cameroonians as Nigeria hopes to correct its defensive errors recorded in the 2019 AFCON Qualifier against Bafana Bafana.
